Volunteering within the Wheeler Alumni community is a rewarding way to stay connected to friends, build personal and professional networks, and demonstrate leadership capacity. There are a variety of ways to get involved to match your interests and level of commitment. Big or small, thank you for your commitment to Wheeler!
The mission of the Wheeler School Alumni Association is to engage, connect, and celebrate our alumni to increase pride, strengthen participation, and allow for meaningful contribution to the Wheeler community. The full Alumni Board meets four times annually, advises the alumni office, oversees the Alumni Awards program, participates in outreach for events and fundraising, and hosts an annual Homecoming gathering each October.
Class Ambassadors (also known throughout the years as Class Agents, Class Secretaries and Reunion Committee Volunteers) are volunteer representatives who participate in class outreach prior to events and act as a point person for class news and updates. Your class may be represented by one individual or by a group/committee. This is a low-lift role that enables you to keep in touch with your classmates and with Wheeler— a win-win!
Wheeler Alumni have always supported one another through mentorship and networking, and now we have an easy-to-use platform to raise your hand and participate. Simply indicate in your Wheel profile settings that you are willing to serve as an alumni mentor. You choose how often you wish to be contacted and the type of help you are suited to provide, whether it is for informational interviews, CV review, or a discussion about your academic path. We recommend completing your Wheel profile with detailed information about your professional role and location so alumni with similar interests can find you.
If you would are interested in mentoring students in person, we invite you to sign up for our annual Alumni Career Roundtables during Homecoming Weekend.
Launch or join an alumni regional club in your area or an affinity group that celebrates alumni interests, professions or identities. Clubs and groups organize alumni-led programs and events with support from the alumni office, including a Wheel page for your club or group members.
All Wheeler alumni clubs and groups welcome alumni with interest or affiliation regardless of race, ethnicity, orientation, gender expression and identity, cultural background or regional location.
